Race #6 in the 2014 championship: Mosten Raceday in Denmark.

The weather was great on thursday when we arrived at the Bode Engvej at Allingåbro , that had been turned into an 1/8 mile sprint strip for the occasion.
But it rained the next day, so no racing on friday.
It stopped for a while during lunch, and the crew put in a huge effort to dry the track,
but more rain came down in the afternoon.

Jesse Bohn used the time well to prepair and test the tow bike of team B&B, that he also raced in a Harley class.

Saturday morning began cloudy and humid, but at least it was dry. Some more track prep, then came the call.

A junior biker aimed for the christmas tree, but managed to avoid it.

Michael Hustead of team Jensen ran his Harley Sportster,

and Jessy raced his chopper.

A huge burnout without sound by the electric bike of the True Cousins who raced with the supergas bikes.

In the Pro Twin Bike class, Marcus Rubæk Christiansen did an impressive 5.45 second run.

Mogens Lund from Denmark was quickest in the Funnybike class with his superstreet bike.

The topgassers ran at noon, and John Hanssen was first to ride. He choose to stand on the right side of the road and feathered the throttle after the launch.

Then went even further to the right, and barely stayed away from the guard rail.

Lars Birch made a straight pass, but lost valuable time as the bike still lacks an air shifter.

Then a weak burnout by Bernd Foit and he shut it off and went back.

The fans of Jan Malmberg on the grandstand were full of expectations.

"I'm looking forward to a new personal best", Jan had told me on thursday. It took a while before he got the engine running. But when he did, it ran!!!

An impressive burnout followed a great launch by Jan Malmberg, and 4.85 seconds on the clock! Well done!

Problems for Christian Bruhn after his burnout, and he went back into the line-up.

A big rolling burnout by Anders Jensen:

Bigger injectors are fitted since Malmö, so he's looking for a new base line.

Jensen got some support from a friendly sponsor now, that also enables him to go to the final race of the season.

Peter Niklas was not happy with his run, and is still looking for the right clutch set-up for his 1198cc Ducati.

Here's Cord "German Undertaker" Albers om his first trip at Mosten with the shift light on.

Albers was assisted by the Caspari brothers, and the team is highly motivated to race. He's on the entree list for Hoskovice.

Herman Jolink made the same mistake as at Santa Pod earlier this year, not enough revs, and his Ducati dragbike stopped after the launch.

Still trouble for Mats Lasson getting the turbo-power to the rear wheel.

His attempt lasted just a few meters.

Stefan Andre made second place at Mosten last year.

Now he managed to stay just ahead of Albers. With a few more quick guys still to come.

Conny Karsson made a nice burnout on his home made turbo Harley.

But the engine hesitated and stopped at the start line.

Then Bernd Foit tried again and shut off after burnout.

A nice smooth run for Frederik Schack.

. Not quick enough to beat Malmberg, but with a better top speed, and a good enough result to win the 2014 Euroserie and become this years champion.

Then Christian Bruhn for another attempt on the Turbo-Honda, that got him in the middle of the list.

Checking the data it showed the engine was running way too lean, so there is more in it for him.

So nine out of thirteen bikes made it to the finish, and the weather predictions for the rest of the day did not look good!

The loudest bike at the event was the Puma supercharged parallel twin of Hans Olav Olstad.

Quickest of the nitro supertwins after the first round was Samu Kemppainen.

The sun came out for a short while, when Erik Nielsen ran the bike that Charley Karling raced in the 1990's

It created a big fireball last year, but no problems this time.

In Top Fuel Bike class, Ian King and his team were aiming for a 3 second pass that weekend and started off with a nice straight 4.22 seconds run. Peter Ström had paved the way with more rubber, and Ian stayed in the groove.

Mechanic Marius: "we slightly underestimated the track".

A few racers were lucky, they got another round. Like the racers in the Old School class.

But while the supergassers were in the line-up, it started to drip, then lots of rain, so we'll have to wait another year for a three second pass, and Ian got crowned "King of Mosten" in the evening.

We saw the same topgassers on the podium as last year, but this time all on a different position.

Christian Bruhn and Peter Niklas are on place #2 and 3 in the Championship now, ahead of Herman Jolink, who already skipped a race.

Schack is the Champion, the rest is still undecided.

Mats Larsson talked things over with his crew and decided to go to the finals at Hoskovice.

B&B-racing and Anders Jensen are teaming up for the trip to the Czech republic, and just like last year, daddy Schack will also bring his own bike and race it there too, so a Viking invasion of the Czech republic at the last race of the season.

Update: Günther Retsch crashed!

Wie ihr wisst ist Günter nach seinem 3. Run im Auslauf gestürzt. Er hat sich dabei Verletzungen an Schulter, Arm und Bein zugefügt. Sofort wurde er ins Hospital nach Salt Lake City gebracht wo nun wirklich hervorragend für ihn gesorgt wird.

Günters OP ist gut verlaufen. Er ist auf dem Weg der Besserung.

Former supertwin top gas dragracer converted his Ducati dragbike ito a streamliner and took it to salt lake in Bonneville in 2012 to set a world record in his class.

The team has improved the bike last year, and will try to sharpen the record in August 2014.
