Funny Bikes:

Marc Vanden Boer from Belgium qualified #5 with his Harley in a strong field of four-cilinder bikes.

He was beaten by Stefan Hagenstein from Germany in the quarter finals. "Hagi" also won the semi's by beating the favorite and top qualifier Eric Richard from France.

Then Hagenstein managed to stay just ahead of Thomas Joswig in the finals and win the race.

Super Street Bikes:

Many quick bikes from the UK, but Thomas Granica from Germany and Mogens Lund from Denmark gave good competition. Granica made it into the semi finals.

Lund got into the finals by beating Shaun Paul Buttigieg in the semi's.

Then smoked the tyre while Bradle O'Conner won the race.

In the Prostock Bike class, Fredrik Fredlund from Finland and Gert-Jan Laseur from Holland were doing nice and close side-by-side runs during the qualifications.

Ger-Jan suffered clutch problems and redlighted in the quarter finals. Top qualifier Fredlund beat Karl-Heinz Weikum from Berlin in the finals.

The supercharged nitro twin of the Pels family produced big flames when Ronny Aasen from Norway ran it down the track.

But the Supertwin Top Fuel bikes had serious problems finding the needed grip. Here's Martijn de Haas from Holland smoking the tyre after his launch:

Christian Jaeger from Germany set the quickest time, but his bike would not shift during the quarter finals.

His opponent Roman Sixta from the Czech republic advanced to the semi's, where he had a bye run.

Not enough grip for Job Heezen from Holland, he lost in the quarter finals to Samu Kemppainen from Finland.

Samu then beat Aasen, and had a bye run in finals, as Roman Sixta's engine was damaged in the semi's and the "White Cat" failed to show up.

Great expectations by Otto Knebl in the Top Fuel Bike class.

The Czech racer had done a personal best of 6.5 in Finland recently, but could not get the horses down the track.

Otto damaged two exhaust valves and the head gasket on saturday, and did not come out on sunday.

The team of Ian King had found a setup that matched the track conditions and Ian ran low sixes.

Ian won by beating the funnybikes of Gustavsson and Papafilippou on sunday and also got the award for best engineered bike.

Fredrik Fredlund, Ricard Gustavsson and Samu Kemppainen are also on the entree list of Mosten Raceday, along with many riders of the Nordic Series for a sprint on the 1/8 mile.

Former supertwin top gas dragracer Günther Retsch converted his Ducati dragbike ito a streamliner and took it to salt lake in Bonneville in 2012 to set a world record in his class.

The team has improved the bike last year, and will try to sharpen the record in August 2014.
